Celebrants make an important contribution to the community and share in the special moments in peoples’ lives. They can specialise in many areas including marriage, civil, funeral and family ceremonies and are also often employed as emcees.

Course delivery

The Certificate IV in Celebrancy is taught in intensive an five days of face-to-face sessions. You then have up to 12 months to complete the assessments to finalise the celebrant course.


The face-to-face sessions are delivered at the University of Wollongong. Class numbers are capped at 12 to ensure individual attention throughout celebrant training.

Keith Lammond is the president of the main industry body, Australian Marriage Celebrants Inc and has over 17 years experience as a Celebrant.

He is a respected celebrant trainer and treats every trainee as a VIP. Keith’s teaching style is warm, engaging and lots of fun which makes the week-long course a truly memorable experience.

Your Certificate IV in Celebrancy from ITCC will form part of your application with the Attorney-Generals Department for registration to become a certified Celebrant. There are additional required criteria.
